Coco Cao is the visionary founder behind Moon Acne Skin Clinic and LUNARIS HEALTH — a brand built on trust, discipline and 14 years of uninterrupted clinical beauty practice.Her journey began at 18 as one of Adelaide’s earliest recognised makeup artists. By 19, she opened her first independent beauty retail store. At 21, she operated a 400-square-meter Korean cosmetics flagship and a national e-commerce network.Moon Skin is her 20th physical store.
That scale represents more than expansion — it reflects a lifetime spent listening to customers, understanding skin, and refining real-world solutions.Coco’s transition into clinical aesthetics came from personal experience. After struggling with severe acne, she travelled to South Korea for intensive skin management training. Returning to Australia, she founded a medical aesthetic skin management brand and personally treated clients for years, developing protocols grounded in practice rather than theory.
Her philosophy is simple: Beauty must never exploit trust.
Clients remain loyal because they know she will never recommend unnecessary treatment.
For Coco, business is not about selling — it is about stewardship.
At 25, Coco published her essay collection“May Your 25 Be As Extraordinary As Mine,”which led to mentorship in film writing under internationally recognised directors. She then made an unexpected decision:She left a thriving business empire to start again in Melbourne, studying screenwriting while working inside medical companies.Seven years immersed in art and film reshaped her philosophy. It deepened her understanding of life, identity and purpose.
Coco does not see herself as a businesswoman.She sees herself as a custodian of trust.Her principle has never changed:Bring the best products to every person who finds her.Her clients become friends because they know one thing with certainty:Coco will never let them spend a dollar unnecessarily.
When she returned to aesthetics, she did so with maturity, discipline and scientific rigor. She built MOON SKIN as a system that merges research, clinical protocols and product science.

Dr Stephen Shiao

Dr Stephen Shiao is the scientific pillar of the Moon Skin research system.
He was born in Seoul into a multi-generational medical family with four generations of physicians specialising in clinical practice and traditional therapeutic formulations. Growing up in an environment deeply rooted in medicine shaped his early commitment to scientific rigor and patient care. Nearly all members of his extended family work in healthcare, reinforcing a lifelong immersion in medical culture.
For over a decade, Dr Shiao’s primary research focus has been human cellular regeneration and immune modulation. His work explores the intersection of ageing biology, inflammation control and emerging AI-supported bio-aesthetic systems, with the goal of developing restoration-based treatment frameworks that align with natural biological processes.
He has extensive academic and clinical experience in tissue repair, inflammatory regulation and cellular recovery systems. He continues to advance his research through international academic training and professional development in cellular science.
With practical experience in ADSCs, SVF and immune-modulating therapeutics, his clinical philosophy prioritises:restoration over artificial alteration.
